The Work We Take On

Most of the garage doors we open up in this area went in sometime between 1959 and 1999, with the bulk of that stock dating to the 1960s and 70s. That matters because a door from that era is built different from what's sold today - heavier panel gauges, older spring sizing, hardware that's been painted over a few times by the time we see it. We work on torsion and extension springs, openers that have started grinding or stopped responding, bent tracks, broken rollers, and cables that have frayed through. We cover Edmond itself and the surrounding area out to places like Arcadia, Jones, The Village, Nichols Hills, Forest Park, Spencer, Luther, and Guthrie. A lot of the calls we get are on doors original to houses built in that mid-century window - the kind where the spring size isn't stamped anywhere obvious and the opener bracket was welded on by whoever installed it the first time. We also work on newer doors, but the older stock is where a lot of the diagnostic work actually happens, because nothing is standard anymore once you're forty or fifty years out from install.

What We Do Not Take On

We don't do new home construction installs where the opening hasn't been framed yet, and we don't handle commercial rolling steel doors or dock-style equipment - that's a different trade with different hardware. If a door is far enough gone that the track is bent in multiple places, the panels are rusted through, and the opener is original to a house built in the early 1970s, we'll usually tell you replacement makes more sense than another repair, even though repair is the easier sale for us. We also don't stock every part for every era of door on the truck - some older torsion springs and obsolete opener boards take time to source, and we'd rather tell you that up front than promise a same-day fix we can't back up.

Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers about garage door repair in Edmond. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

Why did my spring break in the cold instead of during summer?

Edmond's winters sit in a cold moderate climate band, and steel springs lose tension and get brittle as temperatures drop. A spring that's been wearing out slowly often finally lets go during the first hard freeze, not in July heat. If your door suddenly won't lift after a cold snap, a broken torsion spring is the most likely cause.

My house was built in the 1970s - can you still get parts for the opener?

It depends on the specific unit. A lot of the area's housing dates to the 1960s and 70s, and original openers from that era sometimes use parts or logic boards that aren't made anymore. We'll check what you have on site and tell you honestly whether a repair part exists or whether replacement is the more realistic option.

Do you give a price over the phone?

For a basic single spring swap, usually yes. For anything involving a bent track, mismatched hardware, or an older opener, we need to see the door in person first - houses built decades apart around Edmond often have different hardware underneath, and guessing a price before seeing it isn't fair to you.

How far out from Edmond do you go?

We work the Edmond area and out toward places like Arcadia, Jones, Nichols Hills, Forest Park, and Spencer, roughly 5 to 15 miles out. If you're further out than that, call and ask - it depends on the day and the route.
